On the first day of the new school year, the Lippe Police took action to ensure the safety of students and pedestrians around schools. The Lippe traffic police conducted school route checks on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, to ensure the safe arrival and return of Lippe students.

In Flensburg, two drivers were caught using their phones while driving and now face fines and points. The Lippe Police urge all road users to drive attentively and carefully around schools, as many children are still new to navigating roads independently. Anticipate impulsive behavior and exercise extra caution around children on the roads.

In Detmold-Klüt, five red light violations were penalized at a traffic light frequently used by children for their school commute on August 27, 2025. The Lippe Police will continue to monitor safe school routes in the coming days.

Several parent-driven vehicles and even a teacher were among those caught speeding. A total of 122 speeding violations were recorded near schools in Lippe on the first day of the new school year. At the Grundschule Wasserfuhr in Bad Salzuflen, speed cameras flashed 97 times on August 27, 2025.
