Residents in Düsseldorf's Düsselthal neighborhood encountered a snake in a garage yard on Sunday evening. A reptile expert from the local fire department successfully captured a one-meter-long king python.

In an unexpected turn of events, residents on Simrock Street in Düsseldorf were left in awe when they spotted a one-meter-long snake in the garage courtyard of their multi-family dwelling on Sunday at 5:40 PM. The snake, identified as a protected king python, was causing quite a stir.

The residents quickly took action, securing the snake by placing a bucket over it. They then contacted the Düsseldorf fire department, who dispatched a reptile expert to handle the situation.

Upon arrival, the reptile expert confirmed the identity of the snake and noted that it appeared to be well-fed and healthy, but with some external injuries. The expert then carefully placed the snake in a reptile box for transportation.

In accordance with species protection regulations, the snake was transported to the Natural and Animal Park in Brüggen, Kreis Viersen. The relevant local nature conservation authority of the Garden and Cemetery Office in Düsseldorf has also been informed.

At this moment, the origin of the snake remains unknown. There is no information available about the owner of the snake specimen found on Sunday on Simrock Street. The park staff will ensure the snake is cared for appropriately until further notice.

This incident serves as a reminder for all pet owners to be mindful of their responsibilities, especially when it comes to owning protected species. It is essential to ensure the safety and well-being of both the animals and the community.
