Residential Building Ablaze: Fire Breaks Out in Living Quarters

Fire at a Disability Residential Facility in Arnsberg Contained

A fire that broke out at a residential facility for people with disabilities on Eichholzstraße in Arnsberg was successfully contained and extinguished by the local firefighting team and reinforcements from neighbouring stations.

The incident began on Sunday afternoon when a fire alarm was triggered at the main fire station in Arnsberg. Upon arrival, a team in heavy breathing apparatus found a fire in a room where cleaning supplies were stored. The alarm status was upgraded to "F4Y - Confirmed fire with risk to life".

Due to the fire, a water pipe burst in the affected room, so the fire department had to disconnect the building section from the fresh water supply. The staff of the residential facility had already evacuated the affected building section before the arrival of the fire department.

Additional forces from the main station Neheim, the fire brigade of Bruchhausen-Niedereimer, the communications service, a paramedic, and the breathing apparatus workshop with the equipment vehicle were deployed to Arnsberg. The operations management service, the voluntary forces from Arnsberg, Breitenbruch, and Wennigloh were also dispatched to Eichholzstraße.

The team in heavy breathing apparatus fought the fire and prevented it from spreading. The fire was contained and prevented from spreading by the firefighting team in heavy breathing apparatus. The deployment forces, including Arnsberg Fire Station, Neheim Fire Station, Arnsberg Fire Brigade, Communications Service, Bruchhausen/Lowereimer Fire Brigade, Arnsberg Paramedic, Wennigloh Fire Brigade, Breitenbruch Fire Brigade, Arnsberg Rescue Station, Command Staff, and Breathing Apparatus Workshop, were able to return to their stations after about an hour.
