Residents of Prince Edward Island encouraged to voice opinions on land usage practices
The Government of Prince Edward Island is inviting Islanders to share their thoughts on land use in the province. This public engagement aims to gather experiences, priorities, and ideas to guide land use, protection, and development on P.E.I.
The initiative, which began on Monday and ends on Oct. 17, offers several ways for residents to participate. These include an online survey, pop-up events, sounding boards, and workshops. The topics for public input are wide-ranging and cover housing, climate change, coastal protection, farmland preservation, and community infrastructure.
Land and Communities Minister, Myers, emphasised that this public engagement is not about government telling people what to do with their land. Instead, it's about listening to the community's voices and working together to create a sustainable and thriving P.E.I.
For those interested in participating, information on how to do so can be found online. The province also plans to offer more opportunities for people to participate in discussions in early 2026.
It's unclear whether this public engagement is a new initiative or part of an ongoing process. However, it presents an excellent opportunity for Islanders to have their say on matters that affect their daily lives and the future of the province.
So, whether you're a farmer, a homeowner, or a business owner, your input is valuable. Let your voice be heard and help shape the future of P.E.I.
