The Coordinating Office Climate Education Landscape Wiesbaden, in collaboration with regional partners, has launched a new statewide event series aimed at setting impulses for climate education in early childhood education. The Press Office of the state capital Wiesbaden published this press release.
The series began with an expert dialogue held at the Nature Pedagogical Center Fasanerie, where approximately 50 early childhood education specialists gathered. Kerstin Jacobs from the Coordinating Office Climate Education Landscape Wiesbaden made a statement about the event, emphasising its importance in providing a platform for specialists to network with regional offers, aiming to strengthen the quality of educational work.
The expert dialogue was organised by the Hessian Ministry of Labor, Integration, Youth, and Social Affairs (HMSI), the Green Space Department, the Coordinating Office Climate Education Landscape Wiesbaden, and the Social Affairs Office, Department of Kindergartens and Daycare, of the state capital Wiesbaden. Social Affairs State Secretary Manuela Strube stated that the expert dialogue is an important tool for specialists to learn about integrating climate education into kindergartens and daycare in a playful manner.
Mayor Christiane Hinninger expressed delight that the expert dialogue happened at the Fasanerie, highlighting its outstanding nature pedagogical offers and climate education network. According to Councilwoman Bettina Gies, the climate education landscape in Wiesbaden has a long history of successful, thoughtful, and cross-departmental groundwork since the 1980s.
The gathering focused on implementing climate protection, climate change adaptation, and sustainability in early childhood education. Further dialogue formats are planned as part of this statewide event series. Citizens can contact the responsible department or office with any questions.
