The Lt. Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha, has addressed the budget session of the J&K Assembly for the first time in more than seven years. During his speech, Sinha outlined the government's commitment to ensuring a safe and secure environment for the dignified rehabilitation of Kashmiri migrants (Pandits) back in the Valley.

Sinha highlighted that the budget symbolizes the people's power, as it is prepared by representatives chosen by the people themselves. He mentioned that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah had personally chaired meetings for all twenty districts ahead of the budget session.

Sinha's government is actively pursuing development programs, improving governance, infrastructure projects, and promoting investment to sustainably achieve the restoration of full statehood, which Sinha suggests could be expected within 3 to 4 years. The government is also engaging with stakeholders to achieve this goal at the earliest.
