Charanga: A Growing Children's Fashion Chain

Charanga, a children's fashion chain owned by the Milla Med group, had a successful 2011, ending the year as one of its best in history. The company, which operates in multiple countries, reached new markets such as Brazil and the United Arab Emirates in the last months.

In 2011, Charanga expanded its footprint by opening eleven establishments abroad, including four points of sale in Brazil and two in the United Arab Emirates. As of the end of the year, the chain had a network of 230 establishments worldwide.

Looking ahead to 2012, Charanga has set ambitious goals. The company plans to open at least thirty new sales locations, with plans to enter new markets such as Kuwait, Qatar, and Russia. However, as of now, Charanga has not announced specific plans to open thirty new sales points in 2012.

Charanga's foreign expansion includes the opening of its own subsidiary in one of the countries it aims to enter. The company started operating in Bahrain, Cyprus, Ireland, Morocco, Portugal, and Venezuela during 2011 and expects 2012 to be another year of challenges.

In addition to its growth and expansion plans, Charanga manufactures approximately four million garments per year. The company closed the 2010 exercise with a turnover of 38.4 million euros and has not yet operated in any new markets beyond the ones mentioned.

Despite its international success, Charanga has not yet entered Kuwait, Qatar, or Russia. The company's objectives for the next twelve months include maintaining growth and entering new markets. In 2012, Charanga planned to open at least three new sales locations in the countries of Chile and Peru.
