Revamped Peugeot 308 Debut: Novelty for the Compact French Vehicle Lineup

The automotive industry is abuzz with excitement as Peugeot prepares to unveil the revamped Peugeot 308 in Germany next year. The new model, set to hit the roads from autumn 2025, will be produced in Mulhouse, France, and will be available in both sedan and wagon variants.

The Peugeot 308, starting from the GT line, will boast a distinctive three-claw light signature, adding a touch of elegance to the vehicle's exterior. The interior of the 308 will also undergo a significant transformation, with the introduction of a new digital instrument cluster featuring 3D animations.

Peugeot has also announced plans to expand the trim lines of the 308, with the addition of Business and GT Exclusive variants. The i-Toggles, integrated into a black strip below the central touchscreen, can be individually configured to suit the driver's preferences.

For those seeking a more eco-friendly option, the electric Peugeot 308 will be powered by a 115 kW / 156 PS motor, delivering a maximum torque of 270 Newton metres. The Plug-In Hybrid 195, on the other hand, combines a 92 kW / 125 PS electric motor with a 1.6-litre turbo petrol engine to achieve a system output of 143 kW / 195 PS. The second generation of the Plug-In Hybrid powertrain features a 17.2 kWh battery, offering up to 85 km of combined electric range according to WLTP.

The Plug-In Hybrid 195 will utilise a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, while a hybrid version with 145 PS / 107 kW will be available, combined with an electrified 6-speed dual-clutch transmission. The electric Peugeot 308 will be capable of charging from 20 to 80 percent in around 32 minutes at a public fast-charging station with 100 kW.

The Peugeot 308 will be available in four drive variants: Electric, Plug-in Hybrid, Mild Hybrid (48V), and Diesel. One of the diesel options will be a 1.5-litre BlueHDi engine with 96 kW / 130 PS, coupled with an EAT8 automatic transmission.

While the manufacturer has yet to announce prices for the revised Peugeot 308, one thing is certain - the new model range will offer a diverse range of options to suit a variety of driving needs and preferences. The Peugeot 308 will be available as a Saloon and Estate from autumn 2025.

In addition to these updates, the Peugeot 308, starting from the GT line, will feature a newly designed radiator grille. The illuminated brand logo on the vehicle adds a touch of sophistication, completing the overall modern and stylish look of the new Peugeot 308.
