Introducing the Rezvani Retro RR1: A Modern Homage to the Porsche 935

Rezvani Motors, known for their SUVs like the Tank and Knight, have ventured into a new territory with the launch of their new division, Rezvani Retro. The division's first creation is the RR1, a stunning recreation inspired by the late-'70s Porsche 935, boasting a blend of timeless looks and today's engineering.

The RR1 is based on the current 992-generation Porsche 911, with only 50 units to be built. Each RR1 model will come with a hefty price tag, starting at around NZ$555,000 including the base 911 Carrera. The base price for a Rezvani Retro RR1 build is US$195,000 before options, on top of the donor car's cost.

The RR1 offers two powertrain options. The RR1 750, equipped with a 3.8-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine from the 911 Turbo S, delivers a whopping 552kW and comes exclusively with PDK transmission. This powerful beast can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in just 2.0 seconds.

On the other hand, the RR1 600 uses a 3.0-litre twin-turbo flat-six engine from the 911 Carrera, tuned to 441kW. The RR1 600 offers a choice between a six-speed manual or seven-speed PDK transmission, and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in about 3.0 seconds.

The RR1 retains the original 911 doors but features a wide, aggressive shell. It boasts mostly carbon fibre bodywork, finished in a Martini livery - a nod to the iconic racing livery of the Porsche 935.

Extras such as Brembo GT-S brakes, centre-lock wheel conversions, Ohlins TTX-Pro coil-overs, and a custom livery are available as options. However, unlike Rezvani's SUV range, the RR1 does not come with bulletproofing or spy-spec gadgetry (at least, not yet).

In summary, the Rezvani Retro RR1 is a testament to the fusion of classic design and modern technology. With its limited production run and impressive performance, it promises to be a coveted addition to any car enthusiast's collection.
