Big Chicken, the popular 46-unit fast-food chain, has recently unveiled a menu refresh aimed at satisfying the appetites of its guests and catering to the demand for snacking and value.

Jax Sperling, who joined Craveworthy Brands as VP of culinary and supply chain seven months ago, has spearheaded the menu revamp. Sperling's vision for the refresh was to return the menu to its roots, add a new snack category, and introduce bigger, bolder items.

One of the key additions to the menu is the introduction of platters, offering larger meals with hand-breaded tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas Toast, and a choice of eight sauces. These platters cater to guests with bigger appetites and are a new format for Big Chicken.

For those seeking overstuffed sandwiches, Big Chicken has introduced three new options: The Big Drip, The Pit Boss, and Philly Fadeaway. These sandwiches, selling for around $10.99 a la carte and $13.49 with fries, are sure to satisfy any hunger.

Sperling has also made enhancements to the Nashville seasoning and onion rings in the sandwiches section. For those looking for something smaller and more affordable, a new Shaq Snacks category has been created, offering a variety of options including El Shaquito, The Hot Shot, Smokehouse, Mushroom Melt, and an unnamed pimento cheese and chicken tender combination.

Chicken tenders have been a core part of Big Chicken since its launch in 2018, and they continue to play a significant role in the menu refresh. Each Shaq Snack features a crispy chicken tender, buttery garlic toast, and unique sauces and toppings.

In response to consumer feedback, combo meals have been transformed into entree plates. For instance, The Philly Fadeaway, Big Chicken's take on a Philly cheesesteak, is a combo of grilled chicken, cheese, and vegetables on a hoagie roll.

The complete menu refresh rolled out in early August. Sperling plans to take a break before rolling out any new offerings in the fall, ensuring the restaurants have enough time to execute the menu refresh. However, more limited-time offers are in the works, released on a quarterly basis, featuring sandwiches, Shaq Snacks, or milkshakes with a theme.

No information about the release date of the next limited-time offer edition at Big Chicken is available yet. But one thing is certain, Big Chicken continues to innovate and cater to its customers' needs and desires.

In addition, some new SKUs were brought in for the snack menu, which can be used as building blocks for other items on the menu. Mac and cheese and elote can be ordered as sides for the platters, adding a variety of flavours to the meal.

The menu refresh is part of Big Chicken's ongoing commitment to providing delicious, high-quality food that appeals to a wide range of tastes and appetites. With its focus on value, variety, and innovation, Big Chicken continues to be a popular choice for fast-food lovers everywhere.
