On a fateful Saturday night in September 2025, a taxi ride from Abensberg to Eining's Neustadt suburb turned sour. The incident, which occurred at around 4:15 a.m., involved a 31-year-old taxi driver and five passengers, four of whom were heavily intoxicated.
The disagreements between the driver and his passengers arose due to the driver's perceived reckless driving. As the ride progressed, an argument escalated upon arrival at the destination. In a surprising turn of events, a 36-year-old passenger took the taxi driver's keys and threw them away.
In the ensuing chaos, the taxi driver attempted to leave, but in the process, he accidentally brushed against a 41-year-old passenger who had positioned himself in front of the taxi to prevent its departure. The taxi driver, in response, struck the 36-year-old passenger.
Both the taxi driver and the 36-year-old passenger had left the scene before the police arrived. Upon their arrival, no injuries were reported by any parties involved. However, both individuals are now facing investigations. The 36-year-old passenger is being investigated for coercion, while the taxi driver is being investigated for bodily harm.
