Road closure notice: Route 31 will shut down this weekend in the vicinity of the railroad crossing in Clay.
Route 31 in the town of Clay, New York, will be closed for essential railroad track repairs by CSX Transportation, as announced by local authorities. The maintenance work on the railway tracks in Clay is scheduled to take place over the weekend.
During the closure, drivers heading east on Route 31 will be directed to take a detour. They will first turn south onto Route 57, then head north on Soule Road, and finally rejoin Route 31. For those travelling west on Route 31, the detour will involve a southbound journey on Soule Road, a northbound trip on Route 57, and a return to Route 31.
The affected section of Route 31 is located between Dell Center Drive and Route 57, also known as Oswego Road. The closure will be marked with signed detours to ensure a smooth flow of traffic during the repairs.
The closure is scheduled to commence at 10 p.m. on Friday and is expected to last until 11:30 p.m. on Sunday. Motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and allow extra travel time to reach their destinations. CSX Transportation and local authorities urge drivers to exercise caution and follow the detour signs during the repair work.
