Robbers who targeted a supermarket unfortunately lost their stolen goods during their escape, potentially facing imprisonment as a result.

In a shocking turn of events, four young men are currently standing trial at the regional court in Munich for their involvement in a failed robbery at a Rewe supermarket on Putzbrunner Straße in Neuperlach. The incident, which occurred in April 2024, has caused a stir in the city.

The trial, which took place on Wednesday, 20th August, revealed that the gang had planned to split the money from the robbery. However, their scheme unravelled quickly, and they are now sharing prison sentences instead.

The robbers, armed with a pistol, made off with approximately €3000. Taher M. (25) entered the store with a blank-firing pistol, aiming to intimidate and take the money from the cashier.

The gang's plan was for Ruben C. (36) to serve as the alleged ringleader, driving the getaway car. Antonio M. (28) was also present during the robbery, wearing a ski mask. Dominik N. (31) admitted to being the lookout, going into the supermarket as the last customer.

A brave employee blocked the escape of the robbers, and the gang's confessions during the trial provided more details about their roles and the planning of the failed robbery. The DNA of the robbers was later traced through a helmet and a ski mask they lost during their escape.

The trial also revealed that Dominik N. was responsible for creating a distraction by claiming he had left his EC card in his car. This diversion allowed the robbers to carry out their plan.

The robbery occurred just before closing at 8 pm. Despite their best efforts, the gang realised their mistake soon after it took place. The incident caused a significant disturbance in the community, with many expressing relief that the brave employee blocked the robbers' escape.

As the trial progresses, the identities of the other three offenders who belonged to the group remain unknown. The four defendants now face long prison sentences for their involvement in the supermarket robbery.
