Break-in at Wildlife Nature Experience Center in Trassenheide, Usedom

A break-in occurred at the Wildlife Nature Experience Center in Trassenheide, Usedom, over the weekend. The incident took place on Sunday night, and the center remained closed for cleanup work and police investigation.

The unknown perpetrators forced open eleven slot machines at the center, with the thieves only showing interest in the cash inside. According to reports, several hundred euros were stolen, although the total property damage caused is approximately 28,000 euros.

Despite the break-in, the exhibits at the center, which includes specimens of animals from various continents, were not damaged. The center, a popular tourist attraction, reopened on Monday, with owner Dirk Janisch announcing the resumption of normal operations.

The police investigation into the break-in is ongoing, with no detailed information about the suspects released yet. The slot machines were the focus of the police investigation, but further details about the case have not been provided.

The Wildlife Nature Experience Center in Trassenheide is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts, offering a unique opportunity to learn about and interact with a diverse range of animals. The center's resilience in the face of adversity is commendable, and we hope that this incident will not deter visitors from enjoying the wonders of the natural world on display.

The "Wildleben" Experience Museum in Trassenheide on Usedom, which was also attacked by unknown perpetrators on Sunday evening, is a separate establishment. The police are currently investigating that incident as well, and no further information has been released about it at this time.
