In a significant development, five suspects, aged between 19 and 26, have been arrested by the Frankfurt am Main state police in connection with a series of robberies that have taken place in the Bavarian Lower Main region.

The investigation, which was initiated by a robbery that occurred on August 20 in the Schweinheim district of Aschaffenburg, was conducted by the Criminal Police in Aschaffenburg in close coordination with the Public Prosecutor's Office in the same city.

The suspects are believed to have been involved in different constellations in the four known robberies so far. They are accused of luring men via a contact app using false information and robbing them, sometimes using violence. A 45-year-old man was robbed and injured during one of the incidents.

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Aschaffenburg accuses the detainees of committing similar crimes involving significant violence. The exact course of events and the extent of their involvement in the robberies are still being investigated.

The arrest warrants were issued following the investigations, and the suspects were presented to the competent investigating judge, who issued remand warrants on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping.

The suspects, all from Frankfurt am Main itself, were arrested on Wednesday, and evidence was secured. Search warrants were executed by the criminal investigators.

The investigation is ongoing, and further details may be released as they become available. Anyone who has been affected by further crimes or has other useful information is urged to contact the Criminal Police in Aschaffenburg at Tel. 06021/857-1733.

It is suspected that there may be more victims who have not yet come forward due to shame. The victims of the robberies so far come partly from the adjacent Hessian area.

Press inquiries can be directed to the Press Office Frankfurt am Main at the given contact details. The authorities urge vigilance and caution when using online platforms for personal meetings, especially when it involves the exchange of money or valuables.
