In the heart of Bristol, two integrated resorts, Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol and Caesars Virginia, made history in November 2024. Both destinations reported impressive figures, setting new records for monthly gross gaming revenue (GGR).

Hard Rock Bristol, which opened its permanent resort on November 14, 2024, saw a staggering total GGR of $18,072,828.02. This is the first time the casino has reported monthly GGR upwards of $18 million. The casino's 1,408 slot machines and 62 live dealer table games were busy throughout the weekend, with slots accounting for $15.5 million of the revenue and tables contributing nearly $2.6 million.

The opening four-day weekend was a triumph, with more than 58,000 guests entering the casino. Hard Rock Bristol's hotel was a sellout during its opening weekend, and the casino commanded steep rates for its 303 hotel rooms, with Friday rates starting at $599.

Meanwhile, Caesars Virginia, which will open its permanent facility on December 17, 2023, reported a monthly GGR of over $18 million in November 2024. The $750 million destination is currently sold out until Thursday, indicating a high demand for its offerings.

Hard Rock Bristol directed more than $1 million to the local Bristol government in November from 6% of its monthly GGR. This generous contribution is a testament to the casino's commitment to the community.

Portsmouth and Danville have been collecting casino taxes since Rivers Casino Portsmouth and a temporary casino operated by Caesars Entertainment opened, respectively. The success of these integrated resorts is undoubtedly a boost for the local economies.

Caesars Virginia's property is a $515 million destination that reported its best month on record in November 2024, surpassing the previous best of $16.3 million set in March 2024. The owner of Caesars Virginia, Caesars Entertainment, is known for its extensive portfolio of world-class casinos and resorts.

With taxes and a $15 nightly resort fee, the total bill for a Friday night stay at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol came to $741.52. Despite the high costs, visitors were drawn to the integrated resort, making it a thriving hub of entertainment and gaming in Bristol.

As these two integrated resorts continue to thrive, they are set to redefine the gaming landscape in Virginia and attract visitors from across the region.
