Prince Harry Returns to England for WellChild Awards and Community Recording Studio Visit
Prince Harry has returned to England after a five-month absence, with a busy itinerary that includes two separate events. The main reason for his visit is the annual WellChild Awards in London, where he will appear as patron on Monday evening.
At the WellChild Awards, Prince Harry will give a speech, meet seriously ill children and their families, and present an award to an "inspirational child" aged between four and six. On Tuesday, Prince Harry will visit the Community Recording Studio in Nottingham. During his visit, he plans to announce a significant donation to Children in Need to support their work against youth violence.
Despite the busy schedule, neither Prince Harry nor Buckingham Palace has made any official statements regarding potential meetings with the royal family. The current status of whether Prince Harry will meet members of the royal family during his brief stay is uncertain.
Harry has been estranged from his family since moving to the US. Particularly his relationship with his brother, Prince William (43), is strained after Harry publicly criticized the royals in interviews, a Netflix documentary, and his autobiography.
The last personal meeting between Charles and Harry was over a year and a half ago. However, in February 2024, the Duke rushed to England after the announcement of Charles' cancer diagnosis to see his father. In early September 2025, Prince Harry met with King Charles III in London during his visit to the UK, after about one and a half years without contact.
In a previous visit to England in May, Harry lost a long-running case regarding the downgrade of his state-funded security. As a result, he will have to personally ensure his security in the UK during this visit.
According to British media reports in July, high-ranking advisors to the King and his son met in London - a possible first step towards resuming communication. However, Prince Harry's schedule includes no confirmed meetings with his family during this visit.
Prince Harry's first stop was Windsor Castle, where he paid tribute to his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022). The WellChild Awards ceremony and the Community Recording Studio visit are separate events in Prince Harry's itinerary, marking a significant return to his home country after a period of estrangement.
