Rumors of a mandatory notification to the DAV within 10 days from the MIA have been dismissed.
In a recent request to media representatives and bloggers, the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs has urged for the verification of information from unofficial sources regarding the registration of vehicles in Germany. The ministry is also urging against the dissemination of false information.
It's important to clarify that there is no established 10-day deadline for updating the vehicle's registration data in general. However, specific cases do require prompt attention. These include registering a vehicle for personal use, temporarily importing a vehicle for more than a year, or transferring vehicle ownership.
In such cases, a 10-day deadline for submitting an application to the State Auto Inspectorate is established. The authority responsible for these cases is the locally competent vehicle registration authority (Zulassungsstelle), which is determined by the vehicle owner's place of residence or company headquarters in Germany.
It's also worth noting that the owner's address of residence is linked to the vehicle's registration data. This means that any changes in the owner's address should be promptly updated to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
The Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs' request underscores the importance of accurate and timely information in the realm of vehicle registration. As always, it's crucial to verify information from reliable sources before sharing it.
