Russia Exports Fish to 18 Countries in 2023's Market

Russia's fish and seafood exports have seen significant growth in 2023, according to data from the Ministry of Agriculture. The country's catch of aquatic biological resources reached an impressive 5.3 million tons, marking a 30-year high.

In the past year, Russia has solidified its position as the world leader in salmon catch, with over 600,000 tons landed. This achievement, combined with the expansion of supplies to various countries, has contributed to the country's thriving fish and seafood exports.

One of the key markets for these exports is Africa, with Nigeria emerging as one of the top five destinations. The company has also been increasing its presence in Latin America.

Asia remains a significant market for Russian fish and seafood. China, Japan, South Korea, the Netherlands, and Nigeria have been the main buyers, importing a substantial portion of Russia's exports.

Interestingly, since 2023, no new countries have been added to Russia's fish and seafood export list. However, it's important to note that around 18 new countries were added to the company's export geography during that period. It appears that these new markets have been primarily in Asia and Africa.

The company aims to achieve $5.6 billion in exports this year, a challenging but achievable goal given the robust demand for Russian fish and seafood globally.

As the world's leading salmon producer and with a diverse range of markets, Russia's fish and seafood industry continues to thrive, offering promising prospects for the future.
