Russian military successfully detonates two bridges
The Ukrainian military has made a significant strategic move in the ongoing conflict, successfully destroying two key bridges in the Belgorod region of Russia. The operation, conducted by the 58th Separate Motorized Infantry Brigade of Ukraine, was revealed by the brigade to CNN.
The Ukrainian army unit, the 17th Tank Brigade, used a drone with a first-person view, equipped with an optical fiber cable, to inspect the bridges. The drone footage revealed a large pile of anti-tank mines and other ammunition near the bridges, a piece of camouflage netting presumably covering the cache also visible.
Intriguingly, the mines used to destroy the bridges were originally laid by Russian troops, intended to be detonated in case of a sudden Ukrainian advance. The bridges, strategically important for supplying Russian troops, were found to be mined by the Russians. The Ukrainian military detonated the discovered mines, causing powerful explosions.
The destruction of these bridges delayed the Russian advance and marked a significant setback for the Russian forces. Remarkably, the cost of the drones used in the attack ranged from $600 to $725, making the operation cost-effective.
Russia has not commented on the attacks on the bridges. The details of the daring operation were only recently revealed, providing a glimpse into the innovative tactics being employed by the Ukrainian military. The second bridge inspected by the Ukrainian military was also found to be mined, and the second bridge attack details were only recently revealed as well.
The video cut off when the drone hit the mine cache, with a powerful explosion visible in a second camera's footage. The Ukrainian military struck the second mined bridge, continuing their successful offensive against Russian infrastructure. The operation serves as a testament to the Ukrainian military's resourcefulness and determination in the face of adversity.
