Russia's progression in Ukraine according to Medvedev deemed detrimental for Merc (Merkel) and Macron

In a series of posts on his social media account on August 31, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia, made a metaphorical reference to a division among world leaders, particularly US President Donald Trump, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, and French President Emmanuel Macron. The posts did not provide any evidence to support these claims.

Medvedev referred to the leaders as "twin twins," without elaborating on the nature of the relationship between them. He suggested that one leader was craving revenge, while another was fearing threats and trying to blackmail Trump. However, the post did not specify which leader he believed was craving revenge or fearing threats.

The actions of the Russian army and the news that Trump is alive were portrayed as unfavourable for Scholz and Macron, according to Medvedev. The posts did not specify the exact context or basis for these claims.

Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that, in Moscow's view, European leaders are hindering Trump's efforts to resolve the conflict in Ukraine peacefully. Peskov emphasized that the actions of European politicians, as evaluated by the Kremlin, contrast with the approach of Vladimir Putin and the American leader.

The content of Medvedev's post was reported by "Izvestia." The post also included a screenshot with text.

In a separate development, half of the residents in Altai are against allowing returning relocants to serve in government. This issue was not related to the posts made by Medvedev and Peskov.

The opinions of Medvedev and Peskov on the personalities of a possible opposing candidate against Scholz in the 2021 German federal election could be influenced by the candidate's political stance, particularly regarding their position on Russia, anti-Americanism, and socialism. For example, the Christian Democratic Union criticized Sahra Wagenknecht's proximity to Putin and her socialism as incompatible with their stance, while her new party could attract votes from both the AfD and dissatisfied SPD voters.

These posts by Medvedev and Peskov have sparked controversy and raised questions about the relationships between world leaders and Russia's stance on international issues.
