Samsung responds with a 115-inch Mini LED TV release, countering rival brands TCL and Hisense
Samsung has recently entered the fray of large-screen TV production with the launch of two new models: a 115-inch QN90F and a 100-inch QN80F. These TVs are part of Samsung's 2025 lineup and mark a significant move in the competition against Chinese competitors TCL and Hisense, who have been gaining market share in this sector.
The 115-inch QN90F is Samsung's flagship 4K Neo QLED model and comes in sizes ranging from 43- to 98 inches. This colossal TV is not yet available in the UK, but it is officially priced at $27,000 in the US. The 100-inch QN80F, on the other hand, is available now and priced at £4099 / $6000 / AU$8000.
These new TVs surpass any of Samsung's previous Mini LED offerings in terms of screen size and feature some impressive specifications. Both TVs boast four HDMI 2.1 sockets that can handle signals up to 4K/144Hz with VRR and ALLM. They also support HDR10+, Dolby Atmos audio, and have Samsung's Tizen OS smart platform.
The 115-inch QN90F stands out with its Glare Free panel coating and the NQ4 AI Gen 3 processor, while the 100-inch QN80F features the NQ4 AI Gen 2 processor but lacks the Glare Free display coating. Both TVs are designed to compete with their respective Chinese counterparts. The 115-inch QN90F is set to compete with the TCL X955 115 Max, priced at an equally staggering £24,999 in the UK. TCL's 98-inch C7K is priced at £2400.
The launch of these new TVs indicates that big TVs are not going away anytime soon. Samsung must address competition not only from TCL and Hisense but also from LG, the primary large TV manufacturer rival. Despite this, Samsung and LG currently dominate the global TV market, with TCL and Hisense as significant challengers, particularly from China.
It's important to note that the prices of Samsung's new TVs are high, even by giant Mini LED standards. The 115-inch QN90F is more expensive than the 100-inch QN80F, and both are priced significantly higher than TCL's offerings. However, for those seeking the largest screens and the latest technology, these Samsung TVs could be an attractive option.
In conclusion, Samsung's foray into the XXL TV market with its new 115-inch QN90F and 100-inch QN80F models is a bold move that elevates the competition. With their impressive specifications and large screen sizes, these TVs are sure to attract attention from consumers looking for the best in big-screen technology.
