In a fiery speech at the PNV's first political rally of the year, held in Zarauz, Guipúzcoa, Gerard Bono, the president of the Basque Nationalist Party (PNV), openly attacked both the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE) and the Partido Popular (PP).

The rally, which was only accessible to registered subscribers, saw Bono strongly criticize the PSOE, accusing them of "clinging to power like a limpet." Bono's comments were in response to recent political maneuvers by the PSOE, particularly in the Basque Country and Navarra.

Bono also took aim at the PP, specifically leaders like Feijóo and Tellado. He described the PP as a "quagmire of insults and lies." This criticism followed remarks made by Miguel Tellado, the secretary general of the PP, who called nationalists a "facade" on Monday.

The PNV president criticized the Spanish Government for attempting to impose policies from Madrid, warning against the centralization of competencies that belong to the Basque Country or Navarra. Bono also referred to comments made by the delegate of the Government in the Basque Country, Marisol Garmendia, defending a refugee center in Vitoria.

On the issue of the Arana residence model in Gasteiz, Bono clarified that the PNV does not agree with this model. He also criticized Margarita Robles, the Minister of Defense, for accusing autonomous communities of the PP of not exercising their competencies.

Bono concluded his speech by stating that the PNV will not allow even a single step backwards in this regard. The location of the rally, held in Bilbao, Spain, marked a significant moment in the political landscape of the Basque Country.
