Savor Elite Dining Encounters in the Twin Cities, Offered by Tasting Collective
In the vibrant food scene of Minneapolis and St. Paul, a new culinary adventure has taken root. Tasting Collective, a food lovers' community, debuted earlier this year, offering unique dining experiences at some of the city's most renowned restaurants.
One such restaurant is Herbst, located in the South St. Anthony Park neighbourhood and near attractions like Allianz Field and the Surly Beer Hall. Tasting Collective's collaboration with Herbst, helmed by Executive Chef Ben Moenster, has been a delectable treat for foodies seeking something out of the ordinary.
Recently, a Tasting Collective dinner at Herbst featured a rich smoked chicken raviolo with ricotta, a showstopping wagyu zabuton steak au poivre vert with potato pave, and an olive oil cake with rhubarb for dessert. The dinner also included a rouxai lettuce salad with sturgeon green goddess dressing, snap peas, and hamachi crudo with lemon kombucha, buttermilk, radish, and preserved citrus.
Tasting Collective, founded in New York City in 2016, organises ticketed five-course dinners at participating restaurants during their typically closed evenings. For a fee of $75, attendees can gather, mix, and mingle while tasting unique dishes prepared by the best chefs in town. The dinners also provide anonymous feedback to the restaurant team about ambiance, food, and more.
Membership in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area costs $165 a year, granting members the opportunity to buy tickets for exclusive dining experiences and other perks. Members can also access curated culinary classes and products from artisan purveyors as part of their membership.
Upcoming exclusive meals include a 5-course "Butcher's Bounty" tasting event at Marrow featuring Executive Chef Eddie Moreau and a 5-course "Farm-to-Fork" tasting series at 82 Acres led by Chef Will Preisch. Both events offer locally focused and seasonally inspired menus, but specific dates have yet to be announced.
Tasting Collective has partnered with several other restaurants in the Twin Cities area, including Owamni, All Saints, Hyacinth, and Bučeron, the latter of which won the 2025 James Beard Award for Best New Restaurant.
For those eager to explore the Twin Cities food scene, Tasting Collective is a delectable deal. The community offers at least one dining experience per month in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, with proceeds benefiting the featured restaurants. By supporting these independent eateries, members not only enjoy exceptional dining experiences but also contribute to the continued growth and success of the local food scene.
