SBI Clerk Exam Syllabus for Preliminaries and Main Rounds, Exploration of Examination Structure

The State Bank of India (SBI) has announced the dates for its upcoming SBI Clerk examination, scheduled for 20th, 21st, 27th, and 28th September 2025. The exam is conducted to recruit candidates for the post of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales) across its branches nationwide.

The SBI Clerk Prelims exam will comprise three stages: English Language, Numerical Ability, and Reasoning. The exam will consist of 100 objective type questions, each carrying a weightage of one mark, and a duration of 1 hour. Notably, there will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.

Candidates who qualify for the SBI Clerk exam on the specified dates are not publicly known until the official results and qualifying lists are released by the SBI after the examination.

The SBI Clerk Mains exam will follow the Prelims, with a duration of 2 hours 40 minutes. The Mains exam will consist of 190 objective type questions worth 200 marks, with sections for General English, Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning Ability, Computer Aptitude, and General/Financial Awareness.

The selection process for the SBI Clerk position includes Prelims, Mains, and a Local Language Proficiency Test (LPT).

The SBI Clerk Syllabus covers key subjects such as Quantitative Aptitude, Reasoning, English, General Awareness, and Computer Knowledge. The Quantitative Aptitude syllabus includes topics such as Simplification, Approximation, Missing Series, Quadratic Equation, Data Interpretation (Bar, Line, Pie, Tabular), Data Sufficiency, Wrong Series, Time & Work, Pipes & Cisterns, Problems with Ages, Average, Ratio, Percentage, Profit & Loss, Simple Interest & Compound Interest, Speed, Distance & Time, Permutation & Combination, Boat & Stream, Mensuration, Probability, Partnership, Mixture & Allegation.

The Reasoning syllabus includes topics such as Blood Relation, Direction and Distance, Alphanumeric Series, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Circular/Triangular/Square/Rectangular/ Seating arrangement, Order & Ranking, Inequality, Box-based Puzzle, Floor-based Puzzle, Linear row/Double row arrangement, Day/Month/Year/Age-based Puzzle, Comparison/Categorized/Uncertain Puzzle, and Analogy.

The English syllabus includes topics such as Reading Comprehension, Phrase Replacement, Fill in the Blanks, Odd Sentence Out, Synonyms Antonyms, Para Jumbles, Cloze Test, Inference and Sentence Completion, Sentence Connectors, Paragraph Conclusion, Phrasal Verb Questions, Misspelled Words, Error Detection, Sentence-Level Errors, Word Rearrangement, Sentence Improvement, Error Correction, Word Swap, Idioms and Phrases, and Column-based Sentence Completion.

The SBI Clerk exam aims to fill 6589 vacancies. The exact number of candidates qualifying for the Mains exam will be determined after the Prelims results are announced.
