Scenic Helicopter Tours Announced from Hyderabad to Srisailam: Telangana Introduces Aerial Sightseeing Routes for Tourism

Telangana, the south Indian state known for its rich heritage and temples, is set to reshape its tourism identity with the launch of a new heli-tourism service and a series of tourism development projects.

The heli-tourism project, a joint venture with travel platform EaseMyTrip, will connect Hyderabad with Somasila via Srisailam, offering passengers breathtaking views of the Nallamala forests, the Srisailam dam, and stretches of the Krishna river.

Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao announced the launch of this service as part of the state's heli-tourism initiative. The mix of helicopter rides, wellness retreats, and spiritual circuits is expected to revitalise Telangana's tourism sector.

In addition to heli-tourism, plans are underway to expand water sports and adventure tourism. The INR 68 crore projects announced by Rao include a wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island, a boating point and VIP ghat upgrade at Somasila, and other developments in Nalamma and Eegalapenta.

These projects, aimed at promoting eco-tourism and spiritual tourism, are designed to attract both domestic and foreign tourists. The government hopes to market Telangana as more than just a land of heritage monuments and temples, and instead, as a destination state.

Telangana is determined to shift from being seen as a stopover to becoming a destination state. With the new heli-tourism services and tourism development projects, the state is poised to offer unique experiences to tourists, reshaping its tourism identity.

Work on these projects is expected to be completed within the next year. The wellness and spiritual retreat on Amaragiri Island, for instance, is designed to blend eco-tourism with spiritual getaways, offering tourists a one-of-a-kind experience.

In conclusion, the heli-tourism project and the tourism development projects in Telangana are set to transform the state's tourism sector. With the launch of these initiatives, Telangana is positioning itself as a must-visit destination for tourists seeking unique experiences.
