In tonight's Regionalliga West match at the Parkstadion, FC Schalke 04 U23 will take on Sportfreunde Lotte at 7 pm. The young Schalke team is eager to secure their first win of the season, having had a bye last weekend while their opponents made it difficult for Bundesliga side SC Freiburg in the DFB-Pokal, eventually losing 0:2.

Coach Jakob Fimpel is optimistic about his team's chances, expressing hope for a victory. He also highlights the potential threat posed by Marc Heider, the oldest player on the Lotte team, who is 39 years old. Fimpel believes that Heider, a seasoned player, could be a goal scorer.

Schalke's U23 will welcome a new addition to their squad, In-gyom Jung, who was previously without a club. Jung, versatile enough to play on both offensive wings and behind the striker, is set to make his debut tonight. Fimpel is confident about Jung's fitness and believes he will bring more variation to the team.

However, Schalke's U23 will be without Bojan Potnar, a striker, who is likely to miss the game due to a head injury sustained in training. Additionally, Andri Buzolli, a summer signing for Schalke, is still recovering from a previous muscle injury affecting the tendon and is not yet able to participate in team training.

Sportfreunde Lotte has had a mixed performance in the Regionalliga, with a draw against promoted Velbert, a loss against Borussia Dortmund's U23, and a win against Rödinghausen. Their most recent game against Borussia Dortmund's U23 ended in a 3:5 defeat.

The live-ticketing for the Schalke U23 vs Sportfreunde Lotte game will start around 6:15 pm. Fans are eagerly waiting to see if Schalke's U23 can finally secure their first win of the season.
