Scoob! - A Canine Companion Carries On After Half a Century!
Scooby-Doo, everyone's favourite mystery-solving dog, steps into the spotlight as a superhero in the new movie, Scoob!. With a fresh mindset, an inspiring backstory, and a cool costume reminiscent of his idol Blue Falcon, Scooby-Doo is ready to prove he is man's best friend.
Frank Welker, who has voiced Scooby-Doo for nearly two decades, sees this film as an opportunity for Scooby to showcase his bravery and strength. The animators faced a challenge in creating a fully rendered film performance of Scooby-Doo, but their efforts have paid off.
The film's story is written by a team of talented screenwriters, including Matt Lieberman, Adam Sztykiel, and Eyall Podell & Jonathan E. Stewart. These writers have previously worked on films such as Cars 3, The Angry Birds Movie 2, and Black Adam. The story brings humor and warmth to every panel, according to producer Pam Coats.
Scooby-Doo, characteristically one part bravado to two parts quivering dread in the face of danger, sees himself and his potential in a brand new light in Scoob!. He learns more about his true history and discovers a surprising, regal past.
The film also features an eclectic collection of Hanna-Barbera characters, including Blue Falcon, Dynomutt, Dee Dee Skyes, Captain Caveman, and Dick Dastardly. The special effects and lighting teams have worked hard to keep things both realistic and whimsical.
The film's sound design is a blend of nostalgia and cutting-edge effects, according to Bill Dean. Casey's Creations, a food stand in the film, is named after Casey Kasem, who voiced Shaggy for 40 years.
Tony Cervone, a 25-year animation veteran, is the director of Scoob!. Cervone started his career in Chicago on Steven Spielberg's Tiny Toon Adventures and Animaniacs and ended up on the Warner lot in 1994. He has produced and directed several feature-length videos, including Scooby-Doo! Camp Scare and "Scooby-Doo! and KISS: Rock and Roll Mystery".
Pam Coats finds it refreshing that the characters evolve from the small screen to a grand scale. She mentions that it's a testament to the enduring appeal of Scooby-Doo and the gang. Scoob! is a new movie featuring Scooby-Doo and the gang, and it's set to be a fun and exciting adventure for fans of all ages.
