Searching for Extra Election Aides for 23rd February in Dusseldorf
The city of Düsseldorf is calling for volunteers to support the Office of Statistics and Elections in the upcoming 21st German Bundestag election, scheduled for February 23, 2025. All Germans aged 18 and above are eligible to apply for this task.
Approximately 4,300 election helpers are required in total to ensure a smooth election process. The Office of Statistics and Elections is offering training for interested parties, and volunteers are still needed to fill the remaining positions.
Election helpers will come together with the election board, consisting of 5 to 8 members, at each polling station. Their tasks include verifying eligibility, marking in the voter registry, distributing ballots, and counting votes.

A technical error occurred during the production of the appointment letters, causing 263 election helpers to receive their summons letter twice. Affected election helpers are asked to destroy the second copy of the appointment letter and return only the first signed copy.
More election helpers, particularly for leadership and record-keeping positions, are needed. Preferences for assigned polling stations or working with friends or family members may be considered, if possible.
Election helpers will receive compensation for their efforts. The time allocation of election helpers is determined on-site by the election board. On election day, election helpers will come together with the election board at 7:30 AM to prepare the station, and at the latest by 6:00 PM for the counting of votes and the determination of the election result.
