Security firm employees in Furth forest exposed for widespread wage disparity: HZA-R distributes pay to 16 coworkers, sparking customs investigation into salary manipulation among security companies
In a recent development, the Regensburg Customs Office has launched an investigation into a security company based in the southern Upper Palatinate, accused of practicing wage splitting between 2016 and 2021. This practice, as explained by Lead Government Director Matschke of the Regensburg Customs Office, involves dividing a single employee's salary among several others to create the impression of minimal employment, thereby avoiding social security contributions.
The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office has filed charges against an employee of the company for aiding and abetting the withholding and misappropriation of wages. The Regensburg Local Court fined the defendant 2,400 euros for their actions.
The investigation revealed a concerning case where one employee's overtime payments were distributed among 16 different colleagues between 2018 and 2019. The employee, in one month, received her salary from four different people, indicating deliberate circumvention of legal regulations.
During the main hearing, the defendant made a full confession. However, the search results do not provide any information about the name of the person who was prosecuted in Regensburg.
Matschke also pointed out that wage splitting is not a minor offense. It harms the social security system and fair competition. Cases like this, according to Matschke, demonstrate attempts by companies to avoid their social responsibilities.
