"Seeking Participants for Democracy Contests: Stone Paper Flyer Invitation"
Scissors Rock Paper Airplane (SRP), a non-profit organisation dedicated to developing and implementing social projects, connecting people, and strengthening communities, has announced an array of engaging activities for children, young people, and families in Bergisch Gladbach.
The first event on the horizon is an open parents-child meeting on 16 September at 10 AM, where the topic of discussion will be "Difficult behavior in children and adolescents - what to do?" The meeting will be conducted in German, English, and French to ensure inclusivity.
For the more creatively inclined, SRP has launched two exciting competitions. The "Democracy in 60 seconds - Your reel for diversity and participation" social media competition is open to young people and young adults aged 14-27. The best entries will be awarded at a ceremony on 18 December, and participants stand a chance to win prizes ranging from 1000 euros for first place, 500 euros for second place, and 200 euros for third place.
Similarly, the "Democracy with all senses" painting and crafting competition invites children aged 5-10 to creatively express their understanding of democracy. Prizes for this competition include gift cards worth 50 to 150 euros and other prizes. All created works will be exhibited from 30 November to 17 December in the SRP rooms.
Workshops for both competitions will take place between 13 September and 29 November in the SRP rooms. Registration for the social media competition closes on 17 November, and workshops for the "Democracy with all senses" competition will be open to children who are accompanied by at least one adult.
In addition to these competitions, SRP's "Paper Airplane" team is seeking participants for three projects targeting children, young people, and families. The projects were successful in a municipal application for the state program "Participation, Democracy Education, and Extremism Prevention".
The Paper Airplane team is also looking for art-interested educators and creative volunteers aged 15 and above for the creative workshops. Funding has been approved for the projects, and participants can receive honoraria.
Moreover, Scissors Rock Paper Airplane offers free tutoring for students from classes 1 to 10 and homework support in their Gronau rooms, regardless of their projects and competitions. Information about SRP's expanding offers, such as a coworking space with childcare or a basketball group, can be found on their website.
Unfortunately, at the time of writing, there are no specific instructions or links found for registering for the workshops of the project group "Paper Airplane" in Bergisch Gladbach. However, we encourage interested individuals to visit SRP's website for updates.
The reels for the "Democracy in 60 seconds" competition can be submitted until 7 December, and the award ceremony will take place on 18 December. All created works from the "Democracy with all senses" competition will be exhibited from 30 November to 17 December in the SSP rooms.
We hope these exciting initiatives by Scissors Rock Paper Airplane will inspire children, young people, and families in Bergisch Gladbach to participate and engage in meaningful discussions and creative activities.
