The Customs Investigation Office Berlin-Brandenburg (ZFA) has made a significant breakthrough in the fight against illegal drug trafficking, following the arrest of two suspects and the seizure of over 100 kg of cannabis in various forms.

On September 1, 2025, the Public Prosecutor's Office in Potsdam, along with the Joint Narcotics Investigation Group (JNIG) at the State Criminal Police Office (LKA) of the Brandenburg Police, carried out a coordinated operation in Werder (Havel). The arrests were made during the handover of a shipment, and subsequent searches in Berlin and Werder (Havel) resulted in the seizure of data carriers, smartphones, a blank-firing pistol, two vehicles, and several luxury watches, which are now potential assets for seizure.

The investigations revealed suspicious cargo shipments from Europe, suspected of transporting large amounts of drugs. The 34-year-old suspect detained by the Amtsgericht Potsdam is currently in custody, while the 38-year-old suspect was released after the completion of police measures, following the instructions of the Public Prosecutor's Office.
