In the quiet town of Bergheim, police are on the hunt for an unknown duo involved in a necklace theft incident that took place on Sunday afternoon, July 20, at around 14:50. The incident occurred on Aachener Straße in Zieverich, with the victim, an elderly man using a rollator, being approached by a suspect woman.
According to the report by Polizei Rhein-Erft-Kreis and transmitted via news aktuell, the suspect woman approached the victim while a man remained in the car. The woman offered jewelry to the victim, who declined several times. However, in a forceful manner, the suspect woman snatched the necklace from the victim's neck.
The suspect woman is described as having dark hair, of slim build, and wearing a light-colored skirt and top. The man involved in the incident also had dark hair, was clean-shaven, and was dressed in dark clothing. The suspects drove off towards the center of Bergheim after the theft.
The Rhein-Erft police are searching for a black car with a Dortmund or Düsseldorf license plate. No further details about the stolen necklace were provided in the report. A criminal complaint was filed by the police, and the Criminal Investigation Unit 21 of the Rhein-Erft police has taken up the case.
