Senior Housing Theft Scheme Where "Heated Leakers" Are Involved in Swindling Elderly Residents
In the quiet town of Delbrück, a disturbing incident took place on the night of August 10 to 11, 2025, at a senior living facility on Rietberger Straße. An 89-year-old woman reported that four boxes of jewelry were stolen from her apartment.
The incident began when a young man claiming to be a meter reader entered the woman's apartment around 2:15 PM. The woman, feeling something was amiss about the "meter reader's" behaviour, returned to her apartment a short while later. Upon her return, she found a second young man leaving her bedroom and fleeing the apartment, followed by the first man.
The Paderborn Police have described both suspects as approximately 25 years old, around 165-170 cm tall, with dark hair, and wearing light clothing. Initial investigations suggest that the two suspects, a man and a woman, searched the Rietberger Straße area in Delbrück and committed the crime.
The Paderborn Police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident. They have not yet released any new information about the suspects' identities or arrests. Similarly, they have not disclosed any details about the suspects' motives or methods.
