Serbian subsidiary MTU announces the new appointment for its Managing Director
MTU Maintenance Appoints Frank Haberkamp as Managing Director of Serbia Facility
MTU Maintenance, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial aircraft engines, has announced the appointment of Frank Haberkamp as the Managing Director of its Serbia facility. The new appointment will take effect on September 1, 2025.
Frank Haberkamp, an experienced and respected industry specialist, joins MTU Maintenance with over 18 years of service under his belt. He has held various positions within the sales and programme organization of the company. Most recently, he served as Vice President Repair Services, overseeing the group's parts and accessory programme worldwide.
In his new role, Haberkamp will focus on the continued expansion of the Serbia site, aiming to grow the workforce to more than 500 specialists. He will also oversee the ongoing ramp-up of the site's operations to 470,000 repair hours per year.
The Serbia facility, established in 2019, specializes in high-value engine parts for large-volume engine programs. It is a component repair facility that commenced operations in 2022.
Rainer Beijer, SVP Operations at MTU Maintenance, expressed gratitude for Rainer Becker's hard work, commitment, and leadership during the construction and development of the facility. Becker, who has been with the facility since the project phase, will return to the parent company, MTU Aero Engines, in Munich in 2026, following a handover period.
Haberkamp's appointment comes after Becker's tenure as the Managing Director of MTU Maintenance Serbia. The new Managing Director brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the table, having previously been employed within MTU Maintenance. However, the exact roles he held within the company prior to this appointment are not specified.
The engine programs at the Serbia facility include CF34, CF6, CFM56, V2500, GE90, LM2500, and LM6000. The facility's focus on high-value engine parts and its ambitious repair hour targets underscore its strategic importance within the MTU Maintenance network.
Frank Haberkamp is well-networked and highly regarded in the industry, making him an ideal choice to lead the Serbia facility into its next phase of growth and development. His appointment marks an exciting new chapter for MTU Maintenance Serbia.
