Severe car collision leaves four individuals hurt in Hattingen
Last Thursday evening, a series of events kept the emergency services in Hattingen on their toes. The day began with a serious traffic accident at the intersection of Hüttenstraße and Büschensütz. Two cars collided, resulting in one vehicle overturning and destroying a traffic light pole. Fortunately, an injured cat was handed over to its owner at the scene, making the fire brigade's intervention unnecessary.
The fire brigade, led by Tomás Stanke, ensured fire protection, illuminated the scene, absorbed any leaking fluids, and disconnected the battery of one of the accident vehicles. The emergency services treated and cared for the injured, with a total of three ambulances and two emergency doctor vehicles present. The injured were later transported to nearby hospitals.
Throughout the day, the rescue services were deployed several times. A rescue helicopter was alerted for a bicycle accident but was not needed. A person reported as helpless behind a closed apartment door opened the door independently after the emergency services knocked.
In a separate incident, the fire alarm system at Niederwenigern primary school was triggered. However, the activation was due to cooking vapors, and no fire was found upon investigation.

The duty personnel were deployed twice to assist the rescue service. The reported burning trash bag was extinguished before the arrival of the emergency services. Despite the busy day, the emergency services in Hattingen handled each situation professionally and efficiently, ensuring the safety and well-being of the community.
