Luxembourg was hit by a heavy storm overnight, resulting in significant disruptions to the road network and affecting a total of 21 municipalities.

The storm led to flooding, fallen trees, and landslides on the road network, causing traffic restrictions in many areas.

According to reports, around 50 road sections were affected, with the majority of them located near Luxembourg City. As of the morning, about 20 roads with traffic restrictions were still being reported. The storm caused the deployment of the road and bridge administration multiple times, with nearly 50 deployments due to flooding, fallen trees, and landslides.

The emergency number 112 was called over 800 times during the incident, and there were nearly 300 emergency service deployments in total. Seven people were rescued from three vehicles during the storm, but thankfully, no injuries were reported.

The names of the seven municipalities specifically mentioned as affected by the floods in Luxembourg are: Luxembourg City, Bettembourg, Hesperange, Frisange, Roeser, Mondorf, and Walferdange.

The intensity of the rain was expected to decrease by mid-morning, bringing some relief to the affected areas. The authorities are working to clear the roads and restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
