Severe road collision on motorway 44 in Dortmund results in one individual sustaining injuries.
On August 29, 2025, a significant traffic accident occurred on the A44 motorway, heading towards Dortmund. The incident took place between the Lichtenau Westfalen exit and the Wünnenberg junction.
The accident involved a silo truck from Gelsenkirchen and a motorhome. The motorhome, while overtaking another vehicle, veered off the road, flipped over, and ended up in a ditch. Unfortunately, the 59-year-old driver from Dassel sustained severe injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital after receiving medical treatment at the scene.
Thankfully, the driver of the silo truck remained uninjured but also hit the guardrail after the collision. The incident led to the full closure of the A44 motorway for accident investigation and recovery operations until 20:17.
