Severely Flipped Vehicle on Neuss-Süd Highway - Catalytic crash leaves three individuals seriously injured
Yesterday evening, at approximately 6:00 p.m., a serious car accident occurred on the A57 highway near Neuss, Düsseldorf, heading towards Nijmegen. The incident involved a Mercedes and a Citroën, resulting in three men sustaining injuries.
According to reports, the accident occurred between the A46 and Neuss-Süd interchange. The Mercedes, driven by a 47-year-old man from Cologne, was travelling from the A46 when it moved from the right lane into the middle lane, which a Citroën occupied by three Polish men was already using. The Mercedes then suddenly turned onto the left lane, lost control, and collided with the safety barrier, causing the Citroën on the middle lane to roll over.
The Citroën was occupied by three men, aged 20, 49, and 24. The 20-year-old driver was seriously injured, while his two passengers sustained light injuries. Regrettably, no information about the condition of the men at the time of the report was available.
The Mercedes, after colliding with the safety barrier, spun into the Citroën on the middle lane, causing it to overturn and come to rest on its roof. The driver of the Mercedes remained uninjured throughout the incident.
Düsseldorf Police were called to the accident scene, but no further information about the cause of the accident or any other vehicles involved has been provided. The location of the accident was not specified in the report.
This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder to all road users to drive with caution and to respect the rules of the road. Our thoughts are with the injured men and their families at this difficult time.
