Severious accident in Weinstadt resulting in injuries and substantial property damage due to a head-on collision

In the Rems-Murr district, a significant incident took place on Tuesday afternoon. At around 4 p.m., a head-on collision occurred between a Peugeot and a Smart on the road connecting the Weinstadt districts of Strümpfelbach and Endersbach.

The accident occurred near the entrance to Seemühle in a right curve. The Peugeot, travelling from Strümpfelbach towards Endersbach, veered onto the opposite lane, causing the collision.

At the time of the incident, a road maintenance crew was also present to clean the road. The collision resulted in both vehicles sustaining substantial damage, with an estimated total cost of around 70,000 euros.

The road was fully closed temporarily following the accident and reopened with only one lane open at 5:15 p.m.

On Wednesday around 16:00, the driver of the Peugeot was on the left side of the road near Strümpfelbach towards Endersbach when he unexpectedly moved onto the opposite lane, colliding head-on with a Smart car driven by a woman. The woman was seriously injured, while the Peugeot driver sustained light injuries.

Both vehicles had to be towed away. Two ambulance vehicles and a doctor's car were on site, and both drivers were taken to a hospital for treatment.

The cause of the accident remains unknown at this time. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the collision.
