Showcasing electric vehicles at two upcoming events in the Mobile region

Alabama Daily Politics Platform and Drive Electric Alabama Collaborate for Electric Vehicle Showcases

In a joint effort to educate the public about electric vehicles (EVs), the Alabama Daily Politics platform and the Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama have announced two upcoming events. These showcases aim to make various EV models available for the public to explore and interact with, as well as provide opportunities for one-on-one conversations with EV owners.

The first event will take place on Saturday, August 30, at Love's Travel Stop in Irvington. Given the impending end of federal tax credits for new and used electric vehicles on September 30, attending this event is particularly important for those considering making the switch to EVs.

The second event will be held on Saturday, September 20, at the Son of a Sailor Fest in downtown Mobile.

The Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama, a local organisation dedicated to promoting the adoption of EVs, recently held a successful EV showcase at Greer's Market on St. Louis Street in Mobile. Their goal is to make EVs more accessible to the public and address common questions, such as how far they can go on a full charge, where to charge, and how much it costs.

Henry Brewster, a leader with the Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama, encourages anyone interested in learning about EV affordability, technology, and range to attend the events. He emphasises the importance of understanding the benefits and practicalities of EVs, particularly as they become more prevalent in Alabama.

The Alabama Daily Politics platform provides accurate, reliable coverage of policy, elections, and government. By partnering with the Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama, they aim to inform the public not only about political matters but also about innovative technologies that could shape the future of transportation in Alabama.

Michael Staley, the President of the Alabama Clean Fuels Coalition, drives an all-electric, full-sized Chevy pick-up truck. He encourages everyone to consider the environmental and economic benefits of EVs and to come out to the showcase events to kick the tires and talk to EV owners about their personal experiences.

Alabama Power customers who own electric vehicles can access additional savings, including a discounted rate on all electricity during overnight hours and a $500 rebate for the installation of an in-home charger.

The Bay Area Chapter of Drive Electric Alabama invites anyone to come out to their upcoming EV showcase events to learn more about these vehicles and the benefits they offer.
