In an unexpected turn of events, popular German entertainer Florian Silbereisen stepped in as the host of "Die große Maus-Show" following the postponement of Esther Sedlaczek's last episode. The change came about due to the broadcast of the U-21 European Football Championship final on June 28th.

The last recording of the show, held in Cologne, saw a special moment for Silbereisen as he was warmly welcomed by the show's mascot, "Maus". This encounter, according to Silbereisen, was a memorable one that he will never forget.

Prior to the recording, Silbereisen had discussions with Sedlaczek about the show over lunch in Munich. Sedlaczek, expressing approval for her replacement, spoke enthusiastically about the show and the team to Silbereisen.

Silbereisen, known for hosting ARD music shows and the ZDF "Traumschiff", was praised for his hosting of "Die große Maus-Show" on Saturday. With an average of 2.65 million viewers tuning in, the industry service "DWDL.de" described his performance as "a truly successful, pun intended, 'Mausflight'!".

Industry insiders also commended Silbereisen for his visible enjoyment and good sense for spontaneity during the show. In fact, "DWDL.de" suggested that Silbereisen should be brought out of the 'schlager' drawer more often.

Interestingly, this was a new hosting job for Silbereisen, as he had not previously hosted "Die große Maus-Show". The postponement of Sedlaczek's last episode, originally scheduled for July 5th, allowed Silbereisen to make his debut as the host of the quiz show.

The postponement led to a significant increase in viewership, with the show on Saturday attracting approximately 350,000 more viewers than the episode aired in early July. This increase in viewership suggests that Silbereisen's hosting style resonated well with the audience.

Esther Sedlaczek will return to host "Die große Maus-Show" after her maternity leave. Until then, fans can look forward to more entertaining episodes with Florian Silbereisen at the helm.
