In the past week, several incidents have occurred in and around the town of Seesen, leaving authorities investigating hit-and-run accidents and environmental offenses.

On 10.08.2025, a collision between a car and a bicycle took place at the intersection of Berliner Straße / Bilderlaher Straße in Engelade, Goslar, at 13:45. The driver, a 42-year-old woman from Seesen, overlooked a 59-year-old cyclist from Hamburg who had the right of way. Fortunately, the injured cyclist was later discharged after initial treatment by emergency services. The driver could not be located at the scene, and an investigation has been initiated regarding the hit-and-run accident.

Later that day, at around 20:00, an illegal waste disposal was reported on the parking lot Dannhäuser Berg on the B 64 in Seesen. The disposal, believed to have occurred between 09.08 and 10.08.2025, consisted of over 30 buckets of paint and varnish. Some of the waste had leaked due to poor disposal, and an investigation into environmental offenses has been initiated.

On 11.08.2025, a hit-and-run accident occurred in Lutter at around 04:00. The car involved, which had significant front-end damage, was later found in the backyard of a single-family home in Richtershöhe. The identity of the driver has not been identified, and despite initial investigations and questioning the owner, no information regarding this incident could be found. A patrol car found a license plate from the suspected vehicle. Both vehicles sustained minor damage.

The total damage from the accidents is estimated at approximately €20,000. For any information or observations related to these incidents, contact the police in Seesen at Tel. 05381/9440. The public is urged to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
