Six Design Firms Embracing Sustainability - Highlights from Ambiente 2020
In January 2020, the world of design came alive at Ambiente, one of the largest consumer goods trade fairs in Frankfurt, Germany. As part of a paid press trip, I had the pleasure of witnessing a multitude of innovative and eco-friendly products that are sure to inspire change in the industry.
Among the brands showcasing their sustainable creations was Reisenthel, who introduced a line of reusable bags made from recycled materials. Not to be outdone, LPJ Studios displayed a range of sustainable kitchenware, while retap showcased its innovative refillable water bottles. 3DCORK, too, presented a new collection of cork-based home decor items, each piece a testament to the versatility and sustainability of this natural material.
One brand that particularly caught my eye was the OOhh Collection by Lübech Living, a line of eco-friendly furniture exhibited at Ambiente 2020. The collection's focus on sustainability and innovative design has left a lasting impression, sparking new ideas for my upcoming Autumn designs.
My visit to Ambiente 2020 has ignited a passion for sustainable design that extends beyond this year's fair. I am thrilled to announce that I will be attending Formland Spring 2025, a design fair held in Herning, Denmark. Formland has been a source of inspiration for my Autumn designs, and I am eager to see what new ideas await me at the 2025 event.
