Sochi city boilers undergo planned upgrades as part of renovation project

Sochi, Russia - The 2024-2025 heating season passed without incidents on the city's heat networks and power plants, marking a successful winter for the local utility company. As the city gears up for the upcoming summer, preparations are underway for the 2025-2026 heating season.

Preventive maintenance is currently underway, with work completed on ten facilities. By the end of May, another six facilities will have completed their maintenance, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Sochi's heating infrastructure.

One of the key developments is the installation of a new boiler at boiler house No. 8. This new addition is scheduled to be connected by summer, further boosting the city's heating capacity.

Another significant change will occur at boiler house No. 12L on Siberian Street, which will be converted to natural gas by summer. This conversion is part of a wider plan to transition more boiler houses to cleaner and more sustainable energy sources.

The responsible party for these conversions is the local utility company or facility management team in charge of the boiler operations and maintenance.

In addition, a section of the main heat pipeline on Ulyanova-Krupskaya streets will be replaced by summer. This crucial repair work is part of an over 12-kilometer pipeline maintenance programme aimed at ensuring the city's heat supply remains uninterrupted.

Meanwhile, boiler houses in Moldovka and on Astrakhanskaya Street will also be converted to gas. The city's boiler houses switched to summer mode on April 17, marking the end of the 2024-2025 heating season.

Perhaps the most significant expansion is the increase in capacity at boiler house No. 6 in Bykhta. Two new boilers will be installed, increasing the heat output of this facility and contributing to the city's overall heating capacity.

These developments underscore Sochi's commitment to maintaining and improving its heating infrastructure, ensuring a comfortable and efficient winter for its residents in the coming years.
