Anna Burdina, a resident of Sochi and a veteran of the Great Patriotic War, celebrated her 101st birthday on a day filled with celebration and admiration. The Governor of Krasnodar Krai, Veniamin Kondratyev, extended his warmest congratulations to the heroine, expressing his wishes for her good health and continued care from her loved ones.

Born in 1920 in Adler, Anna Burdina's life took a dramatic turn when the Great Patriotic War began when she was just 17 years old. At 18, she made the brave decision to serve her country and asked to be sent to the front. Her request was granted in October 1942.

During the war, Anna Burdina traversed the front lines of Kuban and Crimea, demonstrating exceptional courage and dedication. She served as a codebreaker in a railway brigade and participated in intelligence operations in the German rear. Her actions were instrumental in the defense of the Caucasus, for which she was awarded the medal "For the Defense of Caucasus."

Anna Burdina's bravery was further recognised with the Order of the Patriotic War II degree. She met victory in Hungary, marking the end of her active service in the war. After the war, she returned to Sochi and resumed her life, working as a bookkeeper.

Defensive structures were built in the place of the collective farm in her native Adler, which was destroyed during the war. Today, the news about Anna Burdina can be found on various platforms, including YouTube, VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, and Telegram.
