Social Mayor Election Stances of Various Political Parties, Centered on Frank Fillbrunn
In the city of Pforzheim, a new social mayor has been elected, with Frank Fillbrunn securing a clear majority in the vote. The CDU city association attributes Fillbrunn's success to his broad experience in top local government positions, while the FDP and Free Voters, along with the SPD city council fraction, have congratulated him on his election.
However, the SPD is disappointed that their proposal for the election of the department head was disregarded. They believe that the election of Fillbrunn will burden further cooperation with the new department head, as they had proposed Sabine Wagner for the role due to her extensive social policy experience.
The CDU, on the other hand, criticizes the SPD for complaining about councils involving the AfD, as they were seeking a united front with them on a joint motion just a few weeks ago. They hope that with Fillbrunn's election, the social control system they have been demanding for years will be implemented effectively.
Frank Fillbrunn brings proven experience and verifiable successes in the areas relevant to the department's task area. The SPD has invited him to discuss his ideas and plans with them, while the CDU city association is pleased with his election as Pforzheimer social mayor.
Pforzheim faces many urgent tasks in the areas of education, care, social affairs, and sport. The SPD will fight for necessary developments and financial priorities in department III, emphasising that the area cannot be the 'piggy bank' of the overall city budget. They believe that the good development of the city depends on the representation of department III by its own department head in budget negotiations.
The CDU, on the other hand, believes that the half-hearted approach of SPD mayor Monika Müller has produced little more than additional administrative work in the social department. They hope that with Fillbrunn's problem-oriented solutions, which have proven relevant for similar situations, Pforzheim can move forward in these challenging times.
Thomas Dörflinger, chairman of the CDU city association, expressed his satisfaction with Fillbrunn's election, stating that it marks a significant step towards addressing the city's pressing issues. The new social mayor is set to take up his post in September.
