Speakers in the sports realm should cease their talks.
In a surprising turn of events, the extraordinary General Assembly of the German Modern Pentathlon Association (DVMF) in Frankfurt/Main saw a dramatic exit of athletes' representatives Rebecca Langrehr and Patrick Dogue, along with Moriz Klinker.
The trio, who were present as athletes' representatives and members of the board, were escorted out of the meeting room before the start of the Assembly. According to sources, the escorted removal was carried out by security personnel at the behest of the Association's Vice-President, Jan Veder.
The incident occurred prior to the announcement of the election results, which were made public last Wednesday. Moriz Klinker and Amaya El-Masri, both candidates in the recent election of the athletes' committee, had not yet received confirmation from the General Assembly for their election.
The matter between the athletes and the Vice-President has since been resolved, with Patrick Dogue confirming that an apology was issued by Veder. The search results do not provide clear or updated information on who the current president of the DVMF is after the elections of Moriz Klinkert and Amaya El-Masri.
It is worth noting that the recent election of the athletes' committee was at the behest of the interim board. The trio of Langrehr, Dogue, and Klinker were seated together on the podium for the General Assembly.
The General Assembly in question was an extraordinary one, and the location was Frankfurt/Main. The DVMF has not released any further statements regarding the incident or the confirmation of the election results by the General Assembly.
Despite the controversy, the German Modern Pentathlon Association's General Assembly took place, marking a significant event in the sport's governance. The Association continues to work towards promoting modern pentathlon in Germany and fostering a fair and inclusive environment for all its members.
