Sprintprodigy experiences significant decline in rank, with Clive Cox, renowned trainer of Beverley Bullet, aiming to thwart him
In the upcoming race, the Beverley Bullet, a number of high-class sprinters will be vying for victory. Among them is Regional, a seven-year-old horse trained by Ed Bethell, who is making a comeback to the track after a two-year absence from Listed company.
Regional has had a strong start to the term, running with credit on all four outings, including a notable performance in the Prix Maurice de Gheest. His form has been impressive, and he is considered the one to beat in the Beverley Bullet, thanks to his Class-drop and a career-high Racing Post Rating of third in the Al Quoz Sprint in April. Interestingly, Regional will be racing with blinkers for the first time.
Another contender in the race is Redorange, another horse trained by Clive Cox. Redorange is making his debut in the Beverley Bullet and showed promise in a Listed contest at Deauville, indicating an upward trajectory. Despite being a three-year-old, Redorange could become the only other three-year-old to win the Beverley Bullet since 2010.
Kerdos, a horse trained by Clive Cox, is also in the race. Kerdos is attempting to regain the Beverley Bullet title he won in 2023. However, his performance in the Nunthorpe last week was less than impressive, which could affect his chances in the upcoming race.
First Instinct, trained by William Haggas, is another horse to watch out for. This genuine filly has a good draw and, according to Clive Cox, has Regional to beat. Adrestia, trained by Simon Crisford, is another strong contender. Adrestia has shown speed and had a career-best run at Goodwood last time. Despite a return to a stiff five furlongs, Adrestia's form suggests she should handle it well.
Lastly, Star Of Lady M, trained by David O'Meara, could be a dark horse in the race. Although Star Of Lady M could be a bit rusty due to not racing for a while, she is in good form at home and could potentially cause an upset.
The current trainer of the Sprint Cup winner in 2023, Jake Bubak, will not be represented in the Beverley Bullet this year. However, Regional is entered for the Sprint Cup next Saturday, suggesting that his trainer, Ed Bethell, is considering running him in both races.
In conclusion, the Beverley Bullet promises to be an exciting race with several top-class sprinters vying for victory. Whether Regional can maintain his form and win the race, or if one of the other horses can upset the favourite, remains to be seen.
