Gun Incident in Minden: Police Investigate Alleged Shooting

In a surprising turn of events, the State Criminal Police Office in Freiburg, Germany, is currently investigating a gun incident that took place in Minden. Chief Inspector Moritz Rawe, who heads the homicide division, is leading the investigation.

The incident began at 10:45 AM when citizens reported multiple gunshot noises in Lerchenweg, Minden. Upon arrival, officers heard more gunshots, and subsequent investigations revealed that the gunshots were allegedly fired from the terrace of a 48-year-old German-Russian man's house, which is located near a cornfield.

A special operations unit was deployed, along with the regular police force, and a nearby football match had to be abandoned due to the operation. The police also used a helicopter during the operation.

Upon searching the suspect's house, officers found a locked gun safe, a bullet hole in a house wall, and a broken window. Cartridge casings were discovered in the adjacent cornfield, and the gun safe was secured by the police in Minden.

The suspect was provisionally arrested at the scene. However, no new information was provided about the ongoing investigation, the potential victims, or the suspect himself. The Bielefeld police have set up a homicide unit named "Lerche" under the leadership of Chief Inspector Moritz Rawe to handle this case.

It is worth noting that the suspect holds a weapons permit. The operation also involved cordoning off Lerchenweg and adjacent streets. No further information has been released regarding the discovery of cartridge casings in the cornfield or the nature of the ongoing investigation.

As the investigation continues, the community in Minden remains on edge, hoping for updates and a resolution to this unexpected incident.
